WHERE HAVE AFRICANIZED BEES SPREAD TO IN CALIFORNIA?

As you can see from the map provided by UCR, Africanized bees have spread over most of Southern California.
They are expected to continue to spread up the coast.
Things to know for your own protection:
These bees react quickly
They sting in large numbers
The can sense a threat to their hive from over 50 feet away
Vibrations from power equipment can be sensed from over 100 feet away
They will chase you up to mile
They swarm to make new nest more often than normal bees
They like to nest near the ground and in cavities in sheltered areas
Places they like to nest in are: old tires, buckets or cans, boxes, piles of wood, holes in block wall fences, sheds, trucks or cars that are not frequently used, garages, trees and any outbuildings.
Remember to be careful whenever yon find bees.
