Rats on the Rise in California Streets Due to COVID-19 Precautions

Closing restaurants except for take-out service, less food waste is being thrown away in the city's alleyways, causing the local rodent population out into the open to search for scraps.R

Precautions put in place to slow the rise of coronavirus cases in California has inadvertently led to the more rat problem for the California cities. With restaurants closed save for take-out service, far less food waste is being thrown away in the city's alleyways, driving the local rodent population out into the open and expanding their search for food . 

There are concerns about the possible infections the rat infestation could spread to the local homeless population ,to homes and businesses.  "There are many pathogens in these rodents.
